GREENWICH — Police are continuing their investigation into a major accident on Arch Street Saturday afternoon.

According to a statement from Greenwich police:

Two Stamford residents suffered serious life threatening injuries Saturday night when their vehicle was struck by a tractor trailer on Arch Street.

At about 5:30 PM the Greenwich Police Department was notified of a serious collision at the intersection of Arch Street and the I-95 south bound off ramp at Exit 3. A tractor trailer exiting the highway had struck a passenger car entrapping the occupants. The fire department had to extricate the driver and passenger from the damage car. They were then transported to a local trauma center with serious life threatening injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured.

This collision is currently under investigation.

Police identified the driver as Christina Vomoca, 38, of Stamford. The passenger was Maiko Koboyashi, 32, of Stamford.
